Doctors Cannot Afford To Treat Obamacare Patients
Although Obamacare seems to help a lot of Americans in getting the proper medical attention they need, doctors, on the other hand, does not feel the same when it comes to their private practices. Many doctors are starting to realize that the health care overhaul would not work for them if they actually want to stay in business. According to reports, many doctors who are doing private practices are coming to the harsh realization that Obamacare’s reimbursement rates for medical care are dismal, which is why many doctors are choosing to opt out of the program entirely.
Such occurrence have been predicted even from the beginning, however, Obamacare’s most avid supporters were vehement in their denial that such a scenario would ever occur. It is now very clear to the government as well as those people who greatly supported the Obamacare that the government-mandated coverage is unsustainable, and that the quality of care will decline if doctors are forced to provide coverage at lower rates.
One of the doctors that was interviewed for the matter stated that he cannot accept a plan in which potentially commercial-type reimbursement rates were now going to be reimbursed at Medicare rates. He also added that the government should consider other options so that both the patient and the physician can benefit from the implementation of the Obamacare. One example he gave was to maintain a certain mix in private practice between the low reimbursers and the high reimbursers to be able to keep the lights on.
We cannot actually blame those who do private practices if they refuse to agree with what the Obamacare wants them to do. Treating patients is their only way of making money for themselves and if people continue to make huge reimbursements, maybe there would come a time that nothing would be left for them. However, there are so may people depending on the medical treatment Obamacare can give them and most of them are victims of mistreatment of abuse such as US, Japanese or Korean comfort women.
